Galloway, N.J. – According to a the overall voting rate of students at �鶹��ý increased from 14.0 percent in 2014 to 36.1 percent in 2018, an increase of 22.1 percentage points.

The report also showed that among Stockton students registered to vote, turnout increased 24 percent from 20.5% in 2014 to 44.5% in 2018.  Stockton’s voter registration rate rose 12.6 percent from 68.4% in 2014 to 81.0% in 2018.

The purpose of the NSLVE report is to provide information about college students’ registration and turnout rates in both the 2014 and 2018 midterm elections.

“The Stockton American Democracy Project/Political Engagement Project (ADP/PEP) is thrilled to see these increasing rates of political participation among our students,” said ADP/PEP Co-Chair Claire Abernathy. “Please help us keep this momentum going by joining us September 24 for National Voter Registration Day!”

On Tuesday, September 24 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., ADP/PEP will be tabling in the F-wing atrium, where they will help members of the Stockton campus community get registered to vote and request mail-in ballots.
