Alumni Volunteers Make an Impact at Stockton this Year
More than 250 alumni volunteered for various 麻豆传媒 events and programs this year.
Galloway, N.J. 鈥 From participating in admissions events and career fairs to mentoring students and presenting to classes, more than 250 alumni volunteers have actively engaged in various facets of campus life this year. The spirit of service among Stockton's graduates is strong, supported by and campus partners who identify potential areas of impact for these dedicated volunteer Ospreys.
Throughout the academic year, alumni volunteers have been instrumental in guiding and supporting both current and prospective students. At the fall and spring Career & Internship Fairs, alumni provided advice on resume building and elevator pitches, helping students prepare for their professional journeys. The 'Decompression Zone,' staffed by alumni from various career fields, offered resources to aid students in navigating the job market with confidence.
"Alumni volunteers play a crucial role in the life of our campus and beyond,鈥 said Sara Faurot Crowley, director of Alumni Relations. 鈥淭heir time, expertise and commitment strengthen our alumni network, inspire current students and contribute to the growth and success of 麻豆传媒. We are deeply grateful for their unwavering support and the positive impact they make."
Alumni also served as ambassadors at Discover Stockton Day and Experience Stockton Day open house events, where they welcomed prospective students and offered insights to ease their transition to university life. Additionally, 130 alumni volunteers also participated in the 鈥淔rom One Osprey to Another鈥 campaign, writing handwritten notecards to personally welcome admitted students to Stockton. Nearly 4,000 prospective students received a personal note, reinforcing the sense of community that defines Stockton.
Alumni volunteer Mat Greer 鈥15 shared his motivation for staying involved: 鈥淚 had such a great experience as an undergrad, and it's really transformative to the person I am today. I want to make sure the current Stockton students are getting the same type of experience.鈥
Stockton graduates represented the university and their graduating classes at a number of other events, including leading the Osprey Parade at President Joe Bertolino鈥檚 inauguration, hosting Second Saturdays events on the campus, serving as advocates for Ospreys Give, and participating in community service opportunities for the annual MLK Day of Service and Community Cleanup Day and Party in the Park.

Alumni Achievement Awards Highlight the Power of Community

Galloway, N.J. 鈥 麻豆传媒 honored 10 of its outstanding graduates during the annual Alumni Achievement Awards on May 16. Nearly 200 guests celebrated the diverse accomplishments and contributions of the honorees to the university, their communities and professions.
鈥淲e are proud to shine a spotlight on Stockton alumni making an impact throughout the region,鈥 said Dan Nugent, Stockton鈥檚 vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the 麻豆传媒 Foundation. 鈥淭hese extraordinary Ospreys highlight the very best of Stockton and what we hope for all our students as they leave campus and head off to embark on their next chapters.鈥
More than 65 nominations were submitted for this year鈥檚 awards, which recognize the ways Stockton alumni make a difference both on campus and beyond. The Stockton Alumni Council on Engagement (ACE) reviews the nominations and selects recipients.
鈥淏ottom line is this is a special place. We鈥檝e produced some remarkable individuals who have made their mark on their communities and the university," said Scott Francis '98, ACE member and emcee for the event. 鈥淥ur purpose tonight is to celebrate our volunteers and leaders and recognize them for their passion and dedication.鈥
First Graduates Celebrated as 鈥楪olden Ospreys鈥 at Reunion

Galloway, N.J. 鈥 As the smiling graduates of the 麻豆传媒 class of 2024 entered Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in May to celebrate their commencement exercises, they were joined by a distinguished group of fellow Ospreys invited to lead the procession at this year鈥檚 ceremony: members of the Stockton class of 1974.
For the first time, Stockton celebrated the 50th anniversary of its earliest graduates with a special event dubbed 鈥淕olden Osprey Reunion.鈥 Members of the class of 1974 were invited to lead this year鈥檚 commencement procession and to attend a reunion event on campus. Members of the classes of 1972 and 1973 were also invited to join in the on-campus festivities, which included time to reminisce, a display of special items from the Stockton Archives, campus tours and a formal ceremony to induct all 50-year graduates as members of the Golden Ospreys.
Each Golden Osprey was presented with a medallion symbolizing their enduring legacy at Stockton. Once inducted, alumni can attend the reunion celebration annually. Each year鈥檚 50th reunion class will also be invited to lead that year鈥檚 commencement procession.
